Join me as I recap Bre + Andrew's intimate & rustic, burgundy & dusty rose wedding at The Coal and Iron Building in Fort Payne, AL.
I love photographing the "getting ready" portion of a wedding day. Mommas helping their daughter into her dress or helping their son tie his tie. Bridesmaids doting on their bestfriend. Groomsmen cutting up and laughing together.
Those kinds of moments are so sweet to capture!
I also love a good first look with the bride & her bridesmaids. And let me tell you, Bre's bridesmaids reaction to seeing her in her dress might have been one of the sweetest I've witnessed thus far in my career!
The ceremony was short & sweet, but still left most of the guests in tears!
Immediately afterwards, we snuck away to get a few group photos & then bride + groom "just married" photos. Andrew's mom rented the DeKalb Theatre marquee to congratulate them on their big day, so it was only fitting we took some of their bride + groom portraits there! On our walk back to The Coal and Iron Building, we stopped on the sidewalk to take just a few more portraits before Bre + Andrew joined to their reception.
Bre + Andrew entered their reception & went straight to cut their cake - which was a decadent cheesecake dripped in chocolate & topped with chocolate dipped strawberries! I love a traditional wedding cake, but I reaaaallly love when couples pick deserts that fit their taste & do something unique! And this wedding desert was probably the best I've ever had!!
After a meal, it was time for first dances and then open dance floor. First dances at a wedding reception usually get me teary-eyed! Of course, this day was no different!
Bre + Andrew were eager to start their honeymoon, so they played a few fun songs for everyone to dance to & then this sweet reception was over!
I've enjoyed getting to re-live this wedding day while blogging it. If you were a family member or guest, I hope you loved getting to re-live it with me!
